Hi friends,
It’s been quite the sluggish week for me, between the heat, storms and hayfever flare-ups, I’ve felt closer to a mollusc than a functioning human being.
But a few things have brought a smile to my face, so I’ll share them!
Dóttir Studio
I made the most of a rare Dóttir Studio shop update last night and purchased a couple of items I can’t wait to receive.
I just love her colours and style, and I have no doubt her cats will turn up in some future paintings!
Some paintings
I did manage to paint this week, so that feels like a victory in itself. The first is a portrait of my step mum, with some added foil paper.
…and the second one is another tondo painting, of a boat in Lesconil…
I’ll add the second one to my Etsy shop at some point (worldwide shipping including to the UK is possible).
Thread Needle
Escapism always helps during sluggish weeks, and I loved reading Cari Thomas’s Thread Needle. Cari and I shared poetry classes a million years ago, and it’s so great to see this book become a runaway success.
If you enjoy high school supernatural books featuring women of dubious intentions, then you’ll love this!
Meet Aneth & Safran
If you follow me on social media you’ve probably been deluged with kitten spam already, but if not, here they are!
I’m their foster family for a couple of months. Safran (kitten) is nearly three weeks old and getting more alert and adventurous every day. Aneth (the mum) is a little feral and hostile but tolerates eating food out of my spoon.
So far my OG cats have no idea they’re there, but they’ve noticed an increase in treats.
Love & kittens,
Claire
